CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – After a series split with Loyola Chicago last weekend, Sycamore volleyball hits the road for a series with Missouri Valley Conference preseason favorite Northern Iowa on Sunday and Monday.

THE COUNTDOWN
Indiana State libero, Melina Tedrow, is closing in on a historic accomplishment that only 10 Sycamores have achieved throughout the history of ISU volleyball. Tedrow currently owns 995 digs in her career, just five away from being the 11th-member of the 1000-dig club at Indiana State. She is also 10 digs away from Kylee Osborne for 10th-all time in Sycamore history.

DIGGING IN
The Sycamore defense managed to put together two strong defensive matches in a split with Loyola Chicago. For the series, ISU averaged 18.14 digs per set, led by Melina Tedrow who tallied 44 total digs for 6.29 digs per set. Tedrow is currently 23rd in the NCAA with 5.57 digs per set and Indiana State as a team averages 19.37 digs per set, the 11th-best number in the nation. Indiana State's 80-dig performance in a three set-match with Bradley is still the fourth-best number in the NCAA for a three-set match.

OFFENSIVE CHANGES
Last season Indiana State saw themselves towards the bottom of every major offensive statistical category. This season, ISU leads Valley in hitting percentage at .193 and is second in kills per set at 13.37. ISU also holds the second-best mark in the nation of total attacks in a three-set match with 163 from their Feb. 15 match with Bradley. They also have the fifth-best mark in the NCAA of total attacks in a four-set match from their Feb. 14 match with Bradley when they tallied 201. The Trees are also sixth in the nation in team attacks per set at 41.43.

STREAK EXTENDED
With 44 digs in a series with Loyola last weekend, Melina Tedrow increased her streak of recording 10+ digs to 22 games. The junior is now just five digs away from entering the 1,000-dig club at Indiana State. She's chasing Kylee Osborne who tallied 1005 career digs from 2000-2003 for 10th all-time in ISU history.
