TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State softball is set to continue the 2021 campaign in Bowling Green, Ky., with the Hilltopper Classic, hosted by Western Kentucky on Saturday, Feb. 27. 
 
The Sycamores will open with Bowling Green State on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 12 p.m. ET and will also face off against Western Kentucky later that afternoon at 2 p.m. ET. On Sunday, Feb. 28, the Blue & White will square-off with Bowling Green State at 12 p.m. ET and Western Kentucky at 4 p.m. ET.

The WKU Softball Complex is closed to the public and only fans on student-athletes pass list will be admitted into the complex.
 
Series History
  • The Sycamores trail the all-time series with Bowling Green 5-4 and they last met in 2020 with the Blue & White escaping with an 8-6 win.
  • Indiana State is no stranger to competition with Western Kentucky, with the Hilltoppers holding a 10-2 series lead and they last met last weekend Feb. 21 at the Chattanooga Challenge.
 
Three Things to Know
  1. New Kid on the Block
    True freshman Isabella Henning was named Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week after her performance at the Chattanooga Challenge. Henning hit .357 going 5-for-14 with two home runs, two doubles and five runs batted in making her collegiate debut. The Kentucky native also posted an impressive .929 slugging percentage and a .444 on base percentage, respectively.
  2. Proficient Peterson
    Senior Bella Peterson hit .611 last weekend at the Chattanooga Challenge going 11-for-18 with two doubles, one home run and eight runs batted in. She was a perfect 4-for-4 in Indiana State's loss to Western Kentucky on Feb. 21. Peterson currently leads the Missouri Valley Conference in batting average, runs scored, on base percentage and hits.
  3. Speedy Sims
    Super Senior Leslie Sims only needs one more stolen base to hit the 100 mark for career stolen bases, she is currently on top of the Valley record book in the category with 99.
