TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – After a tough road series at Bradley, Sycamore volleyball returns home this Sunday and Monday (Feb. 21-22) for another Missouri Valley Conference series with Loyola Chicago.

First serve on Sunday, Feb. 21 is set for 2 p.m. ET and the match on Monday, Feb. 21 will start at 4 p.m. ET.

THE COUNTDOWN
Indiana State libero, Melina Tedrow, is closing in on a historic accomplishment that only 10 Sycamores have achieved throughout the history of ISU volleyball. Tedrow currently owns 951 digs in her career, just 49 away from being the 11th-member of the 1000-dig club at Indiana State. She is also 54 digs away from Kyee Osborne from 10th-all time in Sycamore history.

DIGGING IN
Despite a string of tough games against Bradley, the Sycamore defense managed to put together two strong games in Peoria. Monday's match featured an impressive 80 digs on the evening, the fourth-best effort in a three-set match in the NCAA. For the series, ISU averaged 25.14 digs per set, led by Melina Tedrow who tallied 46 total digs for 6.57 digs per set. Tedrow is currently 24th in the NCAA with 5.39 digs per set and Indiana State as a team averages 19.68 digs per set, the ninth-best number in the nation.

STREAK EXTENDED
With 46 digs in a series with Bradley last weekend, Melina Tedrow increased her streak of recording 10+ digs to 20 games. The junior is now just 495 digs away from entering the 1,000-dig club at Indiana State. She's chasing Kylee Osborne who tallied 1005 career digs from 2000-2003 for 10th all-time in ISU history. Chloe Mason also created a streak of her own, recording back-to-back double-doubles against Bradley over the weekend. The setter has recorded a double-double in five of ISU's seven matches.

HISTORIC VICTORY
With a 3-1 victory over Illinois State on Monday evening, Indiana State defeated the Redbirds for the first time since 2013 when they were victorious over the Redbirds 3-1 in Terre Haute and snapped a 13-game losing skid to the Redbirds. The win also marked just the ninth Sycamore victory in the series and eighth in MVC history over the Redbirds. Libero Melina Tedrow also surpassed the 900-dig mark in her career on Monday evening when she recorded her 18th dig.

CONTINUING TO EXCEL
Melina Tedrow enters the 2020 season as one of the top liberoes in the Valley after a standout 2019 campaign. Tedrow recorded a school record 44 digs against Evansville in October and she also finished her season with 540 digs, the fifth-most by a Sycamore in a single season while also averaging 5.35 digs-per-set, the second-best effort by an ISU athlete in school history.
