ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State's
Bailey Betzer claimed Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week honors for her performance this past weekend in the dual meet against Missouri State.
Betzer opened the weekend by shattering her previous season-best in the 1M diving event as her 245.10 put her nearly six points ahead of Missouri State's Adriana Avila (239.40) for the event title. Betzer's previous season mark of 222.75 came in the dual meet against Northern Iowa earlier in the season in the Vigo County Aquatic Center.
She followed up by finishing second overall in the 3M diving event on Saturday with her mark of 253.57 putting her second overall in the field behind teammate
Sarah Montgomery. Her score was also a season-best in the event as she continues to hit her stride heading into the final stretch of the fall season.
It marks the second time Betzer has received the weekly honor from the conference office and first since back in February 2021.
The Sycamores divers are back in action next weekend at the Purdue Invite. Betzer and crew will compete against the field in West Lafayette, Ind. on November 18-20, while the swimming team will compete at the Kansas Classic on November 19-21.
