Sycamores Officially Ink Robbie Avila on National Signing Day

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State head basketball coach Josh Schertz announced the addition of Robbie Avila Wednesday afternoon as the 6-foot-8 forward officially signed his national letter of intent.

One of the highest-rated commits for the Indiana State men's basketball program, Avila is rated as the sixth-best player in the state of Illinois and the 54th-best power forward nationally by 247Sports.com.

Avila earned First team All-State accolades from the Champaign News-Gazette in 2021 after averaging 25.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 65 percent from the field.

Avila held offers from other Missouri Valley programs including Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Bradley, and Loyola and is the first NLI signee for Schertz.
