TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State is back on the course this weekend for the Ozarks National Invitational as the Sycamores take on the field in Hollister, Mo. at the Big Cedar Lodge. The three-day, three-round event will take place on October 18-20.

The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Big Cedar Lodge's Ozarks National course with teams teeing off for 18 holes on all three days. The course measures 6,107 yards and will be a par-72. The 18-hole layout features challenging carries and a variety of visually-appealing approach shots that are highlighted by their native habitat.

The Sycamores prepare to take on the field after a tough week of practice with the weather not cooperating in the Terre Haute area.

"We had a rough week with the weather for our practice, but it allowed us to work on tidying up our mental approach and some work in the bunkers," Head Coach Greg Towne said. "Ozark National is one of my favorite courses in the U.S. and the Coore/Crenshaw design hits all the aesthetics with elevation changes, water, and the other neat things they do with the green complexes. I'm very grateful to Kevin Kane (MSU Coach) for making this event happen and I can't wait to see the girls reaction when they step out onto the course."

The Sycamores are coming off one of the best tournaments in program history as the team carded two of their lowest-scoring rounds in the Greg Towne coaching era. Indiana State (+51) sat among the tournament leaders throughout the majority of the two-day, 54-hole event at the Highland Golf and Country Club as the Sycamores went 291-304-296 on their way to finishing fifth overall in the field.

The two sub-300 rounds were marked two of the best round scores in program history and featured strong play once again from Lauren Green and Madison Branum. Green posted her second top-five finish of the regular season, while Branum finished sixth overall in the field.

Green earned her second Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week recognition following the tournament with her final-round 70 (Even) marking her lowest round of the 2021 fall season. Branum also continued her recent stretch of play that has featured her posting a seven-over-par score over her last 72 holes of competitive play.

Kristen Hobbs, Iyoun Chew, and Chelsea Morrow are also back in the lineup for the Sycamores in their final competition in the fall schedule. All three athletes have been mainstays in the lineup this fall and have seen their scores counted among the totals at the Redbird Invitational, F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate, and the Butler Fall Invitational.

Hobbs has gotten better every tournament this fall with a season-best 12th-place result at the F&M Bank APSU Intercollegiate. Morrow's top result of the season came in the same tournament as the sophomore placed 19th overall in the field. Chew has also been consistent in her scoring this season with her top result, a 35th-place finish, also coming at the APSU.

The Sycamores close out the fall season this weekend following the three-day event. The 2022 spring schedule will be announced at a later date.
