KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C.  – Led by an opening round of 78 from senior
Sierra Hargens, Indiana State currently sits in a tie for 40
th place in the 53 team field after the opening 18 holes of the Kiawah Island Classic on the South Carolina coast.

Hargens' tally of 78 is tied for 123
rd in the large field of individuals while sophomore
Lauren Green posted a round of 80 which is tied for 160
th. Green is tied with teammate, senior
Kayla Ryan who also posted a round of 80. Senior
Alex Jennings and freshman
Kristen Hobbs each posted rounds of 81 which is tied for 181
st.

The tournament is being held on a pair of courses this weekend including: Osprey Point – Kiawah Island Golf Resort – Kiawah Island, S.C. – Par 72 – 5,984 yards & Oak Point – Kiawah Island Golf Resort – Kiawah Island, S.C. – Par 72 – 5,977 yards.
Tabbed as the largest collegiate golf tournament in the country, the 2020 edition of the Kiawah Island Spring Classic is featuring 53 teams.
The Sycamores opening day team total of 319 is tied for 40
th in the event. Host College of Charleston leads the way after the opening 18 holes after firing a round of 281.
The event continues with Monday's second round which will use two waves including an 8:45 a.m. (ET) start time as well a 1:30 p.m. (ET) tee time. The tournament concludes on Tuesday, March 3 when everyone will begin with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m. (ET). Live stats (9 hole scoring) will be available on GolfStat.com.
