INDIANA STATE NOTES | WESTERN ILLINOIS NOTES
NOTES
- A Win Would: A win would give Indiana State their first three-game winning streak victories over Marshall, Saint Louis and Grand Canyon from Nov. 7-23, 2018. The Sycamores would snap a two-game losing skid to WIU in the series and pick up their first win over a Summit League team since a 77-57 victory over UMKC on Nov. 27, 2015.
- Last Time Out: The Sycamores claimed their first pair of back-to-back wins since the 2018-19 season with an 84-80 victory over Murray State on Saturday. Caitlin Anderson led all scorers with 18 points while Adrian Folks chipped in 13 points to go along with nine boards. In all, six Trees scored in double-figures.
- Offense Engage: With their 84-80 victory over Murray State on Saturday, the Sycamores have now scored 80 points in back-to-back games for the first time since March 10-11, 2011. It is the Blue & White's first time scoring 80 points in consecutive games in the regular season since accomplishing the feat three times from Dec. 29, 2006- Jan. 4, 2007 against Drake, Creighton and Evansville.
- The Difference of a Year: During the 2019-20 campaign, the Sycamores found themselves towards the bottom of the Valley in many offensive categories. ISU averaged just 59.8 points per game while dishing out 10.3 assists throughout the previous season. The story is different this season, however, with the Trees third in the Valley in points-per-game at 72.3, second in total assists at 41 (76th nationally) and third in assists-per-game at 13.7.
- Still Young: After having the least amount of Division I experience with 14 newcomers a season ago, the Trees are still young. They are one of three programs in Division I with all of their athletes to have two years or less DI experience. Murray State and Ole Miss make up the other two programs.
