SAINT LOUIS, Mo. – Senior Alex Malmborg has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Swimmer of the Week, the valley announced Tuesday afternoon. This is the second time Indiana State has received the honor.
 
"It's fitting that we had a senior earn this recognition on Senior Day," head coach Josh Christensen said. "Alex has been our leader in the sprint freestyles since day one of the program and she continued that with her performances on Satruday."
 
Alex claimed two victories in the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle leading the Sycamores to their victory over Eastern Illinois over the weekend. Malmborg claimed first in the 50 freestyle with a time of 23.91. While also touching the wall first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 53.54. She was also apart of the 200 medley relay as the anchor bringing home the victory.
