Sycamore Soccer Inks Eight To National Letter Of Intent

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State women's soccer head coach Julie Hanley announced today the signing of eight student-athletes to a National Letter Of Intent. The Sycamores will welcome all eight members of the class in time for the 2020 fall campaign.
 
"We are extremely excited with the make-up of our National Signing Day class," coach Hanley said. "This class will mesh well with our returnees and addresses needs we have at certain positions. Each of our signees is poised to come in and compete for playing time right away. I am excited about the nucleus of talent we will have on board in 2020."
 
Here is a look at each of today's signees:

Maddie Alexander
5-10, Goalkeeper
Battle Creek, Mich. / Harper Creek High School
 
High School: As a junior was named all-conference, all-city, all-district and team's Most Valuable Player .. She was voted best teammate and team captain … Also played basketball where she picked up all-conference, all-city and honorable mention all-state honors … Led soccer team wot a 12-4-2 record, allowing just five goals over the season en route to the city championship … Also picked up all-conference honors as a sophomore and freshman … Burst onto the scene with 115 saves in her first year of varsity play … Team captain of Kingdom SC based out of Kalamazoo, Mich.
 
Personal: Born Madelyn Elizabeth Alexander on January 25, 2002 … Daughter of Alton and Jennifer Alexander.
 
Audrey Stephens
5-6, Forward
North Aurora, Illinois / West Aurora HS
 
High School: As a junior was named academic all-conference, all-conference, all-sectional and captured her team's Most Valuable Player award … Won the West Aurora Excellence in Athletics Award and was named a team captain … Played in 18 matches, scoring 17 goals with nine assists in leading her team to the IHSA Regional Finals … Earned academic all-conference, all-conference, all-sectional, and her team's MVP Award as a sophomore with 11 goals and three assists and reaching the IHSA Regional Finals … Scored 15 goals with four assists as a freshman to earn academic all-conference and all-conference honorable mention plaudits … Reached the IHSA Regional Finals and won the PEPSICO Championship .. Played for Team Chicago Soccer Club.
 
Personal: Born Audrey Elizabeth Stephens on August 2, 2002 … Daughter of Colm and Mary Ann Stephens … Younger sister of Katharine Stephens, who plays women's soccer at Loyola Chicago .. Majoring in Criminlogy.
 
Jordan Rose
5-3, Defender/Midfielder
Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove South HS
 
High School: Named all-state, her team's Most Valuable Player and Team Captain as a junior … Scored 19 goals and recorded assists en route to picking up the team's regional championship … As a sophomore, picked up all-section, Rookie of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year honors … Scored 11 goals and recorded three assists as her team won the conference and regional championship … Played for Team Eclipse out of Oak Brook, Ill.
 
Personal: Born Jordan Maudessa Rose on July 15, 2002 … Daughter of Jill Geocaris … Majoring in Special Education.
   
Carly Hudnall
5-9, Forward
Noblesville, Ind. / Noblesville HS
 
High School: As a senior, was named first team all-district where she scored one goal and five assists .. Her team won the sectionals, regionals, semi-state and was the IHSSA State Champions … Was named second team all-state … As a junior, scored nine goals and picked up two assists while scoring eight goals with one assist as a sophomore … Played for Indy Premier.
 
Personal: Born Carly Elizabeth Hudnall on March 26, 2002 … Daughter of Jackie and Dean Hudnall … Sister, Jessica Hudnall plays women's soccer at Manchester University … Majoring in Speech Pathology.

High School: Played for Iowa Rush Soccer Club out of Ankeny Iowa … Named team captain in 2019-20 … Three-time Iowa State Cup Champion.  

Personal: Born Kloe Pettigrew on March 31, 2002 … Majoring in Biology.

High School: Named all-conference, second team all-district or academic all-state … Scored 10 goals as her team won the sectional championship … As a junior, was named all-conference, all-district, second team all-state and was named the Girls Soccer Player of the Year by the News and Tribune in 2018 … Academic All-State and the Girls Soccer Player of the Year by the Courier Journal in 2018 … Scored 23 goals and was credited with 18 assists as her team won sectionals and was a regional finalist … Tallied 16 goals and picked up nine assists in leading her team to a sectional championship as sophomore … All-conference, all-district, all-state honorable mention and the 2017 Girls Soccer Player of the Year finalist … Picked up nine goals with six assists as a freshman en route to being named all-conference … Played for the Kentucky First Juniors out of Louisville, Ky., which twice won the Kentucky State Championship.

Sasha Thompson

High School: Named all-conference, first team all-district as well as Conference Indiana goals scored and points leader … Terre Haute North Vigo HS all-time career and season goals record holder as well as all-time career points leader … Scored 33 goals with 13 assists as a senior as the Patriots advanced to the Sectional finals …  Tallied 22 goals with four assists as a junior as the team won Conference Indiana and was the sectional runner up … Named all-conference, first team all-district, 2nd team all-state and was the team's offensive player of the year … During her sophomore year, her team won the Hoosier Cup and were sectional finalists … Named all-conference, all-district, and the team's offensive player of the year with 17 goals scored … As a freshman, her team was the Conference Indiana Champions, Hoosier Cup Champions, Sectional and regional Champions and reached the IHSAA Final Four while scoring 17 goals … Played for Indy Premier Soccer Club where she won five Indiana State Cup Championships and was selected to the National League in 2019-20 to become just the third team from Indiana to ever be selected.
