TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball gets to stay home this weekend as they welcome Missouri Valley Conference foes Loyola and Valparaiso to the ISU Arena. First serve is set for 6 p.m. ET on Friday evening and 5 p.m. on Saturday.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Loyola enters Friday's contest with a record of 9-6 (2-0) and are on a two-game winning streak against the Sycamores. Overall, ISU is 5-4 against the Ramblers at home. The Crusaders come to the ISU Arena at 5-11 (0-2) and are on a five-game losing skid. The Sycamores boast an 8-4 record against the Crusaders at home.

DEFENSIVE TREES
The Sycamores are one of the better defensive teams in the nation through their first 13 games as the average 17.98 digs-per-set which is second in the Valley and ninth in the country.
Melina Tedrow plays a key role in the defensive effort with 5.11 digs-per-set, putting her 27th nationally.

SEEING DOUBLE
Freshman setter
Chloe Mason had an impressive opening weekend of Valley play. In her first two conference matches of her career she posted two double-doubles at 27 assists and 15 digs and 23 assists and 13 digs, respectively. Mason followed that with a career-high 35 assists against Bradley with 12 digs. She sits at nine double-double on the season and in her career.

Sophomore libero
Melina Tedrow continues to lead the defensive effort for the blue and white. Against the Braves of Bradley, Tedrow entered the 20-dig club for the seventh time of the season, recording 29 digs. She is currently third in the Valley in digs-per-set at 5.11 and 27th nationally. As a team, Indiana State is second in the Valley 17.98 digs-per-set.

ASSISTING THE OFFENSE
Freshman setter
Chloe Mason leads Indiana State in total assists on the season, tallying 263 through 13 matches (45 sets) for an average of 5.84 assists-per-set, which is eighth in the conference. She also is ninth in the Valley in service aces, recording 15 in 45 sets for an average of .33 aces-per-set.

HEATING UP
After starting the season 0-8, Indiana State went on a two-game winning streak of which they allowed no set wins by their opposition. The Sycamores defeated Western Illinois, 3-0, in the last game of the Wright State Invitational and then held off a third-set comeback by IUPUI to defeat the Jaguars the following Tuesday.

KEEPING IT FRESH
Strong freshman play continued to help the Sycamores as the season progressed. Against IUPUI, setter
Chloe Mason recorded a double-double with 13 assists and 11 digs, while fellow freshmen
Gretchen Kuckkan and
Taylor Shelton recorded double-digit digs of 14 and 13, respectively.

ALL TOURNEY
Redshirt senior
Cassie Kawa was named to an All-Tournament team, twice in the non-conference season, the latest at the Spartan Invitational. Facing some tough competition, Kawa managed to end the weekend with 17 digs and 6 blocks. The redshirt senior was also one of the top hitters for ISU against Michigan State and RV Cincinnati, hitting .364 and .400, respectively against the Spartans and Bearcats.

FRESH IMPACT
The freshman duo of
Gretchen Kuckkan and
Chloe Mason played key roles for the Trees at the Wright State Invite, with both recording double-doubles during the weekend. Kuckkan finished with two double-doubles, including a 13 kill-24 dig performance against Wright State while Mason earned her fifth career double-double in a win against Western Illinois with 20 assists and 13 digs.

WELCOME TO D-I
Freshman hitter
Gretchen Kuckkan stepped-up to the challenge of Division I competition, recording two double-doubles in her first collegiate tournament. Against Northeastern she tallied 11 kills and 16 digs and followed it up on Sun- day against Green Bay with 11 kills and 15 digs. The freshman tallied double-digit digs in all three matches for the blue and white, ending the weekend with the second-most digs on the team at 42 and she ended with the most kills for ISU on the weekend at 42.

TRAVEL TEAM
The Sycamores spent the first three weekends of the season on the road at the Green Bay Invitational, Spartan Invitational and Wright State Invitational before finally returning home on Sept. 17 to faceoff with IUPUI.

UP-AND-COMING UNDERCLASSMEN
Youth will play a key role for the Indiana State in 2019 as the Sycamores' roster features 10 freshmen and sophomores, making this team the youngest of head coach
Lindsay Allman's tenure.
