ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll has been released and the Indiana State Sycamores have been picked to finish ninth in head coach
Vicki Hall's second season at the helm.
Indiana State received 111 points in the preseason poll, finishing 15 points behind Valparaiso. Drake is the favorite to win the league, picking up 329 points, including 31 first place votes. The Sycamores, which finished 11-19 (5-13), will have a fresh start this season with 14 newcomers.
Hall will welcome in a fresh start for Indiana State women's basketball, as all 14 athletes on the roster are newcomers to the program. The Sycamores' 14 roster additions are the most in Division I and includes six junior college transfers and eight freshmen.
BlueStar Report listed Indiana State as having one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. The Sycamores were given an honorable mention ranking in the report and was the only Missouri Valley Conference school to appear on the list.
The blue and white will open the season on the road in historic Phog Allen Fieldhouse when they take on the Kansas Jayhawks on Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. ET.
