Sycamore men and women appear in Great Lakes Regional Rakings for fifth consecutive week

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State men's and women's cross country teams both appear in the Great Lakes Regional rankings for the fifth consecutive week, the USTFCCCA announced Monday afternoon. The Sycamore men fell one spot to No. 11 while the women moved up to No. 13.

The USTFCCA Regional Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning teams' strength with current season results (if applicable) in determining predicted team finishes at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Indiana State will host the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet on November 9 at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.

At the Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, the ISU men took third in the Gold Division Race with 104 points and fell only to Youngstown State (98) and Calvin College (80).

It was a familiar face leading the men at Notre Dame on Friday. Akis Medrano was the top finisher for the third consecutive race, this time winning the entire Men's 8K Gold Division Race with a time of 24:31.86, just about two seconds off of his personal-best.
