Indiana State Soccer?s Selby Smith Earns Sophomore Leadership Award

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - ISU Women's Soccer defender Selby Smith has earned the Indiana State Sophomore Leadership award, announced by the Division of Student Affairs.

 

 

Smith is one of four sophomores at Indiana State to win the award, which recognizes outstanding student leaders per class (freshman, sophomore, junior and senior). In order to be eligible for the award, students need to have a GPA of 3.0, have significant contributions to a variety of areas in campus life, a positive role model, completed 20 hours of community service and worked to promote values of the college.

 

She was specifically recognized for her role on the Women's Soccer team, her volunteer work at the Terre Haute Humane Society, her involvement with several student organizations including These Helping Hands Bleed Blue, Kinesology and Recreation Sport Club, Promotion Health Across Campus Together (PHACT), Yoga and Meditation Club, Word and Rec, National Society of Collegiate Honors and Alpha Lambda Delta academic honorary and her performance in the classroom.

 

The Lebanon, Ohio native holds a 3.86 GPA in Physical Education and Exercise Science. She did not see action in 2013 due to injury.
