Sycamore Soccer Falls 4-0 At Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The Indiana State Sycamore soccer team fell 4-0 to Eastern Michigan on a cool and cloudy afternoon at Scicluna Field.

 

The Sycamores fell to 3-6-0 on the season while Eastern Michigan improved to 3-4-1.

 

Eastern Michigan scored twice in each half, including a goal by Bianca Rossi in the seventh minute and Cara Cutaia in the 17th minute. After the break, EMU added a pair of goals by Angela Vultaggio in the 48th and 74th minutes for the 4-0 victory.

 

EMU owned a 22-12 edge in shots, including a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal. Abby Keller played all 90 minutes in goal for the Sycamores with six saves.

 

Freshman Abby Reed led the Sycamores with four shots, including two on goal in 79 minutes of action. Emily Chura added two shots for Indiana State.

 

The Sycamores will stay on the road next weekend when they open Missouri Valley Conference play against league-newcomer Loyola on Friday, September 27 and then will travel to IPFW on Sunday, September 28. Kick-off versus the Ramblers is set for 8:00 p.m. (ET) on Friday and at 1:00 p.m. (ET) on Sunday against the Mastadons.
