During ISU's late-season run, the Sycamores earned a scoreless draw against Drake, defeated Missouri State in overtime in Springfield to earn a spot in the conference tournament, topped fourth-seeded Northern Iowa in the opening game of the tournament in Cedar Falls on penalty kicks, 4-3, and eliminated the tournament's top seed Evansville in the semifinals.
