ST.
LOUIS - After making a career-high 10 saves in goal for the
Sycamores in Sunday's 3-2 overtime victory at SIU Edwardsville, senior
goalkeeper Emily Lahay has been named the Prairie Farm / Missouri Valley
Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week as announced by the league office.
Lahay was forced to make nine of her 10 saves in the second half, as the
Cougars pushed forward and tallied 21 second-half shots. One of those saves
came on a penalty kick with the score tied, as the senior goalkeeper chose the
right direction and forced the Cougars to miss a golden second-half chance.
For the season, the senior from Sullivan, Ind., carries a 2-2-0 record with 20
saves and a 1.88 goals against average. In the classroom, Lahay checks in with
a 3.857 GPA while majoring in Elementary Education.
Lahay and the Sycamores continue their five-game roadtrip this Friday, Sept. 9,
with a 4:00 p.m. (ET) matchup at Murray State.
