ST. LOUIS - A total of 132 Indiana State student-athletes were named to the 2010-2011 Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll, it was announced this week by the Valley office.
Three Sycamores received the Presidents Academic Award including Kelsie Cooley from women's basketball, Rachel Posey from women's track & field, and Casey Clark from women's soccer. The President's Academic Excellence Award required a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average, participation in athletics a minimum of two years, and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation.
An additional 42 Indiana State student-athletes were honored with the Commissioner's Academic Excellence Award. That award required a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the previous two semesters, a minimum of 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and participation in athletics. Freshman are not eligible for the award.
To qualify for the Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.2 grade point average for a specified term (Fall 2009), must have been a member of an athletics team, and must have a minimum of 12 hours of enrollment during the fall.
