TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Head coach Rick Heller has announced the addition of Ronnie Prettyman to the Indiana State baseball coaching staff today. Prettyman spent this past summer as an assistant with the Terre Haute Rex, supporting the team's run to the postseason in the Prospect League.

Prettyman played his collegiate baseball at Cal State Fullerton from 2003-05, assisting the Titans to three straight appearances in the NCAA Super Regionals, back-to-back trips to the College World Series in 2003 and 2004 and the 2004 National Championship over the Texas Longhorns. In his three seasons with CSF, Prettyman played in 197 games with 195 starts as the team's primary third baseman, hitting .332 with 51 doubles, 11 triples, 11 home runs and 124 RBIs at the plate.

Prettyman was drafted twice during his time in college, going in the 28^th round to the Milwaukee Brewers in 2004 and in the 10^th round to the Seattle Mariners in 2005. He signed with the Mariners in 2005, playing five seasons in their minor league system from 2005-09. For his professional career, Prettyman hit .263 while averaging six home runs and 36 RBIs a season over his five years.

Within the ISU coaching staff, Prettyman will assist in the guidance of ISU's batters while working defensively with the infielders and catchers for the Sycamores. Prettyman assumes the spot on the coaching staff vacated by Terre Haute native Max Hutson, who accepted an assistant coaching position at Southeastern Iowa Community College this summer after spending the past two seasons at ISU.
