TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Indiana State women's soccer team has just one senior on the 2010 squad, but two goals came off her foot on Sunday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, as senior Casey Clark scored once in the first half and a golden goal with 26 seconds left in the match to give the Sycamores a 2-1 overtime win over Eastern Illinois.

Clark scored bookend goals on Sunday, starting just minutes into the match. Junior Alison Gasparovich began the play by sprinting down the left wing and sending a cross into the penalty box. Clark was waiting there and shot the ball past the EIU goalkeeper into the right side of the goal to give ISU an early 1-0 lead.

Eastern Illinois (2-3-1) tied up the contest in the 27th minute, on a spectacular shot by Elise Farrelly. Farrelly received a deflected ball at the top of the 18-yard box, spun and crack a right-footed shot past a diving Emily Lahay in goal for ISU. Lahay, who had recorded back-to-back shutouts entering the match, saw her 223-minute scoreless streak come to an end with the EIU goal.

The score remained tied throughout the rest of the first half, second half, first 10-minute overtime period and the majority of the second 10-minute overtime period before Clark gave the Sycamores their third straight win on the season.

After a corner by Eastern Illinois with just under 90 seconds left, the Sycamores countered the Panther attack. The scoring play began with junior Ashley Collins driving into the right side of the penalty box before laying the ball off to fellow junior Katie Geyman. Geyman sent the ball towards the middle of the six-yard box and just off the fingertips of the EIU goalie. The ball then fell to Clark, who placed it just inside the right post for the golden goal with just 26 seconds left and a 2-1 ISU win. Clark's two goals on Sunday were her first two this season.

The win puts ISU one game above .500 on the season, at 3-2. The last time ISU was over .500 was after beginning the 2008 season with a 1-0 overtime victory, also over Eastern Illinois. Geyman, a freshman at that time, scored the golden goal for the Sycamores against the Panthers two seasons ago.

The three-game winning streak is their longest since 2006, when the Sycamores rattled off six straight in the middle of the season.

For the game, ISU led 23-9 in total shots and 6-3 in shots on goal. The Sycamores also led in corner kicks, 7-4. Lahay made a pair of saves in goal, en route to picking up her third straight victory and improving her personal record in goal to 3-1.

The Sycamores continue their four-game homestand next weekend, with games on Friday and Sunday. ISU hosts UMKC on Friday, Sept. 10 at 7:00 p.m. before taking on Belmont on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1:00 p.m.

Friday night will also be Bark in the Park night at Memorial Stadium, where fans are invited to bring their dogs to game. The Terre Haute Humane Society, along with other local businesses, will have booths within Memorial Stadium for all the festivities.
