EVANSVILLE, Ind. - A goal just three minutes and 16 seconds into the match on Wednesday evening was all the scoring that took place, as the University of Evansville topped the Indiana State women's soccer team by a 1-0 score in a Missouri Valley Conference match at Arad McCutchan Stadium in front of 298 fans.

The Purple Aces (4-9-1, 1-3 MVC) scored in the opening minutes after taking a free kick from the left wing. UE crossed the ball into the box, where it fell in the middle of several Aces and Sycamores, before UE's Vanessa Legault-Cordisco was able to knock the ball to Kaitlin Robinett, who knocked it past Emily Lahay in goal for ISU.

One thing the Sycamores (8-8-1, 2-3 MVC) had plenty of on Wednesday night was scoring chances, as ISU totaled 10 shots in the first 45 minutes, with four going on goal. UE tallied an equal number of shots (10) and shots on goal (four) in the first half.

The scoring chances continued for the Sycamores in the second half, as the team combined for 18 shots with eight on frame. But none of the 12 shots on the goal that ISU totaled on Wednesday could find their way to back of the net, as UE goalie Chaviel Harrison stopped all 12 chances.

For the match, ISU led 28-17 in shots, 12-7 in shots on goal and 3-2 in corner kicks.

Junior Alison Gasparovich led ISU with six shots, while fellow junior Ashley Collins totaled five. Collins led the team with three shots on goal, while Gasparovich and sophomore Casey Allbright both tallied a pair.

ISU still currently sits in fourth place in the MVC, tied with Drake with six points this season.

The Sycamores have just one conference match left this season, when they travel to Illinois State on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET in the battle of ISUs.
