CARBONDALE, Ill. – Indiana State continued its strong conference form with a 1–0 victory over Southern Illinois on Sunday afternoon at the Lew Hartzog Track & Field Complex. Lina Fasquelle's first-half goal proved to be the difference as the Sycamores secured their third shutout in Missouri Valley Conference play.
Indiana State started strong, creating pressure in the attacking third with a pair of corners inside the opening ten minutes. The breakthrough came at 18:59, when Lina Fasquelle buried a left-footed shot to the bottom right corner off an assist from Isabella Berta, giving ISU a 1–0 lead. The Sycamores kept the momentum, with Berta forcing a save in the 23rd minute and Brooklyn Woods testing goalkeeper Reagan Miller later in the half.
Defensively, Indiana State held strong throughout the second period. Delaney Timmons recorded three saves on the afternoon, including key stops in the 28th and 79th minutes, as ISU's back line of Riley Mathews, Quinn Urquhart, and Mackenzie Mills blocked multiple attempts and cleared a series of late corner kicks.
Indiana State finished with eleven total shots and four on goal, while limiting Southern Illinois to just one attempt on target. The clean sheet marked the Sycamores' fifth of the season and extended their unbeaten streak in MVC play.
