Wednesday's game will be the second of two contests this season against Indiana (18-19, 8-3 Big Ten). ISU defeated IU by a score of 11-2 at Sycamore Field on March 3 in the first match up between the in-state rivals.
Senior David Gurbach shut down the Hoosiers on the mound, as he struck out eight hitters and while giving up just three hits in a career-high 5.2 innings of work to close out the game and pick up the win. At the plate, Ryan Strausborger finished the game 3-for-6 with three RBI and a run scored to lead the way for the Sycamores, while Luke Fieser and Bronco Lafrenz added two hits and two RBI each for ISU.
Game time is set for 4 p.m. EST at Sembower Field. ISU will start senior Michael Manus (1-1, 5.19 ERA) against IU freshman Wyatt Hoff (0-1, 18.00 ERA).
