Stembridge captured the non-seeded 3000 meters with a time of 9:56.44, outracing Southern Illinois' Megan Hoelscher, who was second in 10:01.70.

“That was her best time since coming back from her injury,” John Gartland, Indiana State women's track & field coach, said. “She ran a very smart race.”

Hanley surpassed the provisional qualifying mark in the women's weight throw in winning that event on Friday. Hanley had a throw of 64-feet-8.50-inches (19.72 meters) which is her personal best of the season by a foot and half.
