Sycamores Host Eastern Michigan Friday in Non-Conference Soccer Action

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. ? The Indiana State Sycamores (1-6-0) will host the Eastern Michigan Eagles this Friday, a team that they have never faced before in the history of the soccer program.  The Eagles come from the Mid-American Conference with a 3-2-2 record.

 

EMU's three wins this season came against IPFW, Eastern Illinois, and most recently the Owls from Florida Atlantic University.  The Eagles defeated the Owls this past Sunday in Boca Raton, Fla. 2-1.

 

EMU features six players with at least one goal including two who have three ? Chelsea Detrick and Deana Kinter.  The Eagles also have six players who have dished out at least one assist including Ashley Rodrigues who leads the team with three assists herself.  As a team, EMU has scored eleven goals on ten assists for a total of 32 points.

 

Maggie Manville has backstopped the Eagles thus far playing all but 90 minutes in goal.  Manville has allowed just six goals giving her a notable 0.93 goals-against average. 

 

The Sycamores recently took part in the Boilermaker Challenge Cup at Purdue where they struggled offensively losing 3-0 to Morehead State and 5-0 to Rhode Island. 

 

Come support the Indiana State soccer team this Friday at 5:00 p.m. as they try to break a six-game slump before conference play begins on September 24 when the Panthers of Northern Iowa visit Terre Haute for a 5:00 p.m. showdown.
