TERRE HAUTE, IN ? Indiana State University Director of Athletics Ron Prettyman announced today that Traci Dahl has accepted an offer to become the head volleyball coach at Indiana State University.

"I am pleased to welcome Traci Dahl to our Sycamore coaching family,” Prettyman said.  “Coach Dahl brings a wealth of experience and success as a student athlete and as a coach.  She has been a key to the success of her programs as a player and a coach.  She will be a tremendous asset to our program as we continue to strive for excellence in the Indiana State University Athletics Department.  Please join me in welcoming her to our Terre Haute community and to Indiana State University."

Dahl was an All-American middle blocker and a member of Long Beach State's 1993 national championship team. Most recently, Dahl has been the assistant volleyball coach at Cal State-Fullerton (2005-2007) and comes to Indiana State with an impressive list of accomplishments.

Dahl also coached Club West's 17 and under team in LaVerne, CA, (2006-2007), which placed fifth overall out of 81 teams at the Reno Volleyball Festival in Reno, NV.

Dahl prepped at Gahr High School in Cerritos and won All-San Gabriel Valley League honors as well as a 1989 CIF championship. She was named co-MVP of the league in 1990.

She began her collegiate career at Cerritos Community College (1991-1992) where she was named the South Coast Conference Player of the Year twice. She was a second team All-American in 1991 and a first team All-American in 1992. Cerritos won the state championship in 1992 and Dahl was named the California State Player of the Year.

Dahl finished her collegiate career at Long Beach State (Long Beach, CA) where she was a member of the National Championship team in 1993 and was also named to the second team All Big West. Dahl was first team All Big West and second team All-American in 1994.
