"It is quite an honor for Shae, our program and our athletic department to have her recognized by the Missouri Valley conference for her commitment to community service.  Giving back to the community has been something very important for every soccer player that has been a part of our program and for the Missouri Valley Conference to recognize one of our own means every player to have given her time to the community should feel the same reward that Shae feels in receiving this honor."

In order to be eligible for the award, each student-athlete must be in good academic standing and must demonstrate good citizenship through good sportsmanship and significant community service.  Each institution selects their Good Neighbor Award honorees.
