FRANKLIN, Ind. ? The Indiana State Sycamores posted an 10th place finish after firing a final round score of 316 in The Shootout At The Legends. The Legends is a par-72, 6,356-yard golf course just south of Indianapolis.
ISU carded rounds of 311 and 316 during Monday's first two rounds of play before firing another 316 during Tuesday's final round to finish in 10th place with a three-round score of 943. The tournament field consisted of 13 teams.
The Sycamores finished ahead of Toledo,Bowling Green and Old Dominion, while just being nipped by Northern Illinois (941).
Sophomore Kayley Bodine finished the tournament in 26th place after firing an 82 in the final round of play. She turned in a three-round score of 233.
Sophomore Kelsea Ice continued her strong improvement over the tournament by firing a final round of 78. She opened play with an 82 and then carded an 80 in Monday's second round. Her three-round total of 240 was good enough to tie for 42nd.
Sophomore Abby Butler's final round of 80 gave her a tournament score of 241, which placed her just behind Ice's position in a tie for 45th.
Freshman Jessica Borstrand carded a final round of 83 to finish the tournament with a total of 242 in a tie for 47th. Sophomore Breanne Smith rebounded from Monday's rough start to card a 76 and give her a three-day score of 243, good enough for a tie for 51st.
Sophomore Mackenzie Mack shot a 90 in the final round to finish with a tournament score of 250 and in a tie for 65th position.
Eastern Michigan won the tournament with a score of 888. Missouri Valley Conference members Illinois State finished in fourth place while Southern Illinois finished sixth.
Indiana State returns to action on October 22-23 when they compete in the Austin Peay Intercollegiate at Clarksville, Tenn.
