Volunteer internships through the Indiana State Strength and Conditioning department are currently available to both Undergraduate and Graduate Students who would like to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. These positions are unpaid. Interns will receive experience working in a Division 1 training environment; have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities; and receive college credit if applicable. The interns at Indiana State will have an opportunity to work with all 12 of our men's and women's athletic teams. As a staff we believe in providing our interns with the best instruction possible in order to enhance their strength and conditioning career opportunities. Interns will be expected to assist in various aspects of the program. The level of ambition of the intern will determine the level of the learning experience. Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach Daniel Millington oversees the Indiana State University internship program.

Intern Qualifications:
Punctuality, enthusiasm, strong work ethic, ability to work early mornings and late evenings.
Internship is a commitment for the entire duration of the given semester
Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field, or of senior status
CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification required

Interns will be expected to participate in the following:
Various daily coaching assignments
Daily facility and equipment cleaning and maintenance
Staff meetings – present weekly research articles to share with staff
Assist in overseeing supplement distribution
Weekly teaching sessions with strength and conditioning staff members
Final project or lecture to strength and conditioning staff on assigned topic
Assist with any duties or assigned tasks by fulltime staff
