Indiana State Earns 2–1 Road Win at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio.- Indiana State earned a strong 2–1 road win on Sunday afternoon at Wright State, putting together a performance highlighted by steady attacking pressure and timely execution in both halves.

The Sycamores controlled long stretches of the match, generating early chances and maintaining possession through consistent movement from the midfield and front line. ISU's first breakthrough came in the 16th minute, when Hailey Morgan finished a low-right shot off a clean setup from Meagyn Riffle, giving the Sycamores early momentum and rewarding a stretch of sustained pressure that included shots from Peyton Wetzel and Morgan moments earlier.

Indiana State continued to push throughout the first half, earning multiple corners and creating repeated attacking-third entries through Quinn Urquhart, Emely Lopez, and Riley Mathews. Defensively, the Sycamores stayed organized, with Sofie Hansen delivering key saves to keep Wright State from finding rhythm. After WSU equalized early in the second half, Indiana State responded immediately with composure, settling back into possession and generating another wave of chances. The Sycamores reclaimed the lead in the 61st minute when Lopez finished a low-right shot off a well-timed assist from Morgan, capping off a sharp attacking sequence and putting ISU back in front.

The Sycamores closed the match defending multiple late corners and managing Wright State's final pushes with strong contributions from Ava Evans, Kaylin Klutcharch, Ashlyn Cohen, and Elise McDonald. Hansen delivered another crucial save in the 89th minute to preserve the lead, and Indiana State saw out the final moments with composure to secure the road victory. It was a complete performance from a group continuing to build confidence and consistency as the 2026 season progresses.
