D1Baseball – Indiana State third baseman
Mason Roell was recognized among the top third basemen across NCAA Division I according to the D1Baseball Week 12 positional rankings as announced by the organization this week.
Roell was ranked No. 28 among all D1Baseball third baseman and is one of two in the Missouri Valley on the list with Belmont's Landon Godsey (No. 48).
The West Bend, Wis. native enters the week as one of the top hitters in the Missouri Valley this season posting a .360 batting average over 35 games played, while sitting second on the Sycamores with nine home runs, while adding 35 RBIs and 40 runs scored. Roell is just shy of a 10-10 season with eight stolen bases in 11 chances.
The Sycamore third baseman has posted a 15-game hitting streak and 16-game on-base streak so far this season and has been one of the best hitters in the Valley in conference play on the year. The sophomore has hit .400 from the plate with a team-high seven home runs, while adding 20 RBIs in the middle of the Indiana State lineup.
Roell becomes the second player recognized by D1Baseball in their Week 12 Positional Rankings, joining catcher
Caden Miller (No. 49) who was ranked among the top catchers on the year.
