TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State closed the weekend in dramatic fashion on Sunday afternoon, walking off Drake in the 11th inning to secure a 1–0 victory at Price Field. The Sycamores battled through a true pitchers' duel, played clean defense, and delivered in the biggest moment of the day as Madison Poulson's RBI single brought home the winning run.
Megan Asher was outstanding in the circle, throwing all 11 innings and holding Drake scoreless while scattering just four hits. The senior right-hander worked efficiently, forced soft contact throughout the afternoon, and retired the side in order in five different innings. Indiana State's defense backed her with a composed, error-free performance, including multiple routine plays in the infield and strong reads in the outfield.
Offensively, the Sycamores continued to create opportunities, recording five hits and putting runners aboard in seven different innings. Peyton Simmons sparked a late push with a pinch-hit single in the eighth, while Bella Pusateri added two key hits, including the infield single that set up the winning rally in the 11th.
In the decisive frame, Pusateri led off with a single and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Lauren Marsicek. Morgan Goodrich then worked a walk, and both runners moved up on a wild pitch to put the winning run 60 feet away. Poulson followed by driving a ball to second base, bringing Pusateri home and sealing the walk-off win for the Sycamores.
Indiana State finished the weekend with strong defensive play, competitive at-bats, and a resilient effort that carried through all 11 innings of Sunday's finale.
