Last Time Out
Indiana State sophomore forward
Amerie Flowers tallied a career-high 27 points Thursday night, but league-leading Murray State's offense proved too much for the Sycamores in a 114-78 setback inside Hulman Center.
Flowers went 12-for-17 from the field, setting career-best marks in both categories, while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds.
Clemisha Prackett,
Jayci Allen, and
Tierney Kelsey each contributed 12 points, while
Kennedy Claybrooks dished out a game-high 10 assists to go along with three steals.
Murray State seized control early and never looked back, using strong runs in each half to build separation from Indiana State. After a tightly contested opening quarter, the Racers closed the first half with a decisive surge to take a 58-37 lead into the break. Indiana State showed fight in the second half and played Murray State evenly in stretches, but the Racers continued to extend their advantage with consistent scoring and trips to the free-throw line, pulling away for a lopsided victory.

Playing With Pace
Indiana State is on pace for its highest-scoring season in nearly 20 years, with the Sycamores' up-tempo style of play being a large contributor to that.
The Sycamores rank ninth nationally in possessions per 40 minutes at 78.7, the second-highest in the MVC in the last 15 seasons. Indiana State's two seasons under head coach
Marc Mitchell rank among the MVC's 10 most up-tempo seasons in the last 15 years (78.7 possessions per 40 in 2025-26, 75.9 possessions per 40 in 2024-25).
Indiana State enters the weekend averaging 73.4 points per game overall and 74.2 points per game in conference play. This season's scoring average is on pace to be the Sycamores' highest-scoring season since the 2006-07 campaign, when the Trees averaged 77.6 points per game
Dishing Out Dimes
Indiana State senior guard
Kennedy Claybrooks tallied 10 assists in the Sycamores' last game against Murray State, marking the second time this season that the Memphis native recorded double-digit assists in a game.
Claybrooks dished out a career-high 11 assists when the Sycamores faced Bradley in Peoria, which culminated in the first double-double of her collegiate career. The 11 assists against Bradley are the most by an MVC player in a game this season, with Claybrooks being one of three athletes in the conference with multiple 10-assist games this season.
Claybrooks ranks third in the MVC this season with 4.9 assists per game, a figure which has improved to 5.5 assists per game in conference play. She is one of four athletes in the conference averaging more than five assists per game against league opposition.

Clemisha Prackett recorded a career-high 20 points in the Sycamores' road win at Evansville
Flowers and Prackett joined
Tierney Kelsey (four times) and
Jayci Allen (once) as Sycamores with a 20-point game this season, with the post players producing the Sycamores' highest-scoring outings in conference play this season.
Prackett's 20-point performance came on one of her most efficient outings from the field this season. The junior post player went 7-for-11 from the floor (63.6 percent) and was 6-for-8 from the charity stripe.
Flowers had arguably the best offensive performance by a Sycamore this season in her 27-point outing, going 12-for-17 from the floor (70.6 percent) and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe. Her 27 points, 12 field goals and 17 field goal attempts were all career-high marks

Last Meeting Against Bradley (Jan. 11, 2026)
Kennedy Claybrooks tallied a team-high 16 points and a career-high 11 assists for her first career double-double, but Indiana State's quest for a road conference win fell short at Bradley, 79-74, inside Renaissance Coliseum.
Samiyah Briggs tacked on 15 points to match her season high, while
Jayci Allen added 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench, her most in an MVC contest. Claybrooks also added five rebounds and a game-high four steals for the Sycamores.
Indiana State started strong from deep, hitting five of its first seven 3-point attempts to lead by eight late in the second. Bradley pulled within one possession at the half, but the Blue and White scored the first five points out of the intermission to push their lead back out. The home side closed the third quarter with a 20-6 run to take a 61-54 lead over the Sycamores, but Indiana State fought back in the fourth. A 9-0 run for the Trees put Indiana State ahead 63-61, and the Blue and White still had a lead with less than three minutes remaining. Indiana State couldn't finish the job down the stretch, though, as Bradley outscored the Trees 7-2 in the last two minutes to fend off a resilient Sycamore effort.
