HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Indiana State women's golf tees up for the second time this spring, their first of two tournaments in a nine-day span.
The Sycamores are playing in the Hunstville.org Intercollegiate, hosted by Samford University, on March 2-3 at the RTJ Golf Trail at Hampton Cove course. There are 10 total schools in the tournament, which includes one other school from the MVC: Belmont. Indiana State will tee off at 9:30am CT in a shotgun-style format.
Indiana State will be rolling out a new lineup, as it features
Eliza Baker for the first time since the first fall tournament of the 2024-25 season at The Velvet. Baker has played in 10 tournaments for the Sycamores between The Velvet and this tournament, entering all 10 as an individual.
She played her way into the starting five after finishing third among seven Sycamores at the first tournament this spring. She shot her best round of the year, a 160 (+16, 77-83) to tie in 14th place of 70 golfers.
Joining Baker is
Yang Tai,
Sophia Florek,
Alana Gilbert, and
Rosalie DiNunzio.
Tai began her spring season with a fourth-place finish last week. She carded a 153 (+9, 76-77) with five birdies (tied for second most in the tournament). Her four-over score was her best round since the second tournament of the fall where she went three-over and one-under in rounds one and two at the Butler Fall Invitational.
Florek also placed in the top 10, finishing 10th with a 158 (+14, 81-77). Gilbert (163, +19, 88-75) had the best turnaround in last week's tournament between the two rounds of all 70 golfers with her 13-stroke difference.
Sophomore
Nicole Feistl will be making her spring debut this tournament.
