PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – Indiana State women's golf begins their Fall 2026 season this weekend in South Carolina.
The tournament is hosted by Stonehill College with 12 total universities playing in the tournament at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club. The first day will feature 36 holes followed by 18 on the second day.
Head coach
Greg Towne plans to travel seven of the eight golfers, one holding back to illness. In the starting five will be
Yang Tai,
Sophia Florek,
Alana Gilbert,
Keira Brazeau, and
Gabby Cone. Two golfers will be playing as individuals:
Eliza Baker and
Rosalie DiNunzio.
Recapping the Fall
- Comparing the four fall tournaments to recent years' full seasons, Indiana State finished the fall shooting a 309.1 as a team. That average is the best so far dating back through the 2015-16 season.
- The Sycamores finished in the top half in three of the four tournaments, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Toledo Rocket Classic.
- Junior Sophia Florek led the team this fall in scoring average, playing in all 10 rounds averaging a 76.1. Senior Yang Tai was second with a 76.7.
- Yang Tai and Alana Gilbert are the only two with two top 10 finishes from the fall.
- Tai – 6th at Butler Fall Invitational and T6 Toledo Rocket Classic
- Gilbert – T10 at Toledo Rocket Classic and T7 at Braun Intercollegiate
- Freshman Keira Brazeau competed in each tournament last fall.
- Gabby Cone ended her fall on the highest of note, playing the best golf through her collegiate career. She tied for 14th, the lowest finish so far. Her score of 157 is her best two-round tournament as a Sycamore.
The Newest Sycamore for 2026-27
Earlier this fall, Coach Towne announced the
signing of Ava Brumagin to the 2026-27 recruiting class. This season's team will be graduating seniors
Yang Tai and
Eliza Baker.
