Sycamores earn nation-leading 27th-straight AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Indiana State volleyball continues its NCAA Division I-leading streak after being receiving one of the 2025 AVCA Team Academic Awards, announced by the AVCA on Monday.

Indiana State leads all Division I schools in the nation by receiving the award for now the 27th-straight season. The Sycamores tie with NAIA Concordia (Neb.) for the lead among all universities at all levels. Indiana State's 27 AVCA Team Academic Awards are also the most of any Division I institution, with the Sycamores earning the award in every season dating back to 1998-99.

There were 1,450 collegiate and high school teams that received the award for the 2024-25 season. To be selected, teams must have maintained a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.

The Sycamores were led by recent 2025 graduate Emma Kaelin who earned a bid on the First Team MVC Scholar-Athlete team.
