ST. LOUIS – Indiana State women's golfer
Yang Tai was named to the 2025 MVC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete First Team, announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
Tai is a Chemistry and Pre-Med major, with a 3.98 cumulative GPA and a 3.97 major GPA.
She recently was named a recipient of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Spring Award, and last season she was named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team.
She finished the season with the lowest stroke average out of all Sycamores with a 76.36 in 22 rounds, playing in nine-of-10 tournaments in the season; the one tournament she missed was for an academic conference.
The junior won her first collegiate tournament in the fall leading to the Sycamores' first team victory of the year. She tied for the team's low round this year, shooting a 71 at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational. In all but four rounds this year (18), she carded a 79 or better. She placed top six-or-better in four tournaments throughout the year and was the team's lowest finisher in four tournaments, including the 2025 MVC Tournament, where she led the field on par-3 holes with an average of 2-under.
