Four Sycamores honored on the MVC Baseball Scholar-Athlete Team

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Four Indiana State baseball players were recognized on the Missouri Valley Baseball Scholar-Athlete Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning.
 
Carter Beck, Carson Seeman, and Zac Laird were all voted to the First Team, while Jackson Taylor was honored on the Second Team as voted on by the league's Sports Information Directors and Athletic Communications personnel.
 
Beck, a 4.00 GPA marketing major, becomes a dual First Team selection after earning First Team All-Conference honors last week. The Carnduff, Saskatchewan, Canada finished the season leading the Sycamores with a .335 batting average with 76 hits over 227 at-bats. He added 54 runs scored while adding 11 home runs, 15 doubles, and two triples. He finished the season with 24 multi-hit games and 17 multi-RBI contests, while adding a season-best 17-game hit streak that spanned mid-April through the beginning of May.
 
Seeman, a 4.00 GPA organizational leadership major, saw action on the mound in 19 different games on the season. The Auburn, Calif. native posted an 8.07 ERA over 29.0 innings on the mound, while adding a save. He finished the year with a 17:9 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the year. Highlighting his season included recording the save on April 15 in the midweek 7-5 win over Indiana, while adding two innings of shutout baseball at Vanderbilt on April 29. He added a stretch of five games over March 29 through April 15 where the Sycamores recorded the win every time he took the mound.
 
Laird, a 4.00 GPA chemistry major, saw action on the mound in 21 different games over the 2025 season. The Langley, British Columbia, Canada native posted an 0-1 record with a 7.56 ERA over 16.2 innings. He finished the year with a 19:14 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the season. Highlighting his year included 2.0 innings of shutout relief at SEMO on March 7, 2.1 innings of shutout relief at Belmont on April 6, and 1.2 innings of shutout relief at Missouri State on May 10.
 
Taylor, a 3.97 GPA double major in finance and economics, served as Indiana State's starting second baseman over the 2025 season with 53 games played and 46 starts. The Muncie, Ind. native hit a career-best .304 from the plate on the season with 45 hits over 148 at-bats. He led the Sycamores with three triples and added 11 doubles on the year, while driving in 18 RBIs and scoring 32 runs. Highlighting his season included a career-best 23-game on-base streak, while adding 14 multi-hit games over 2025.
