TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State volleyball fell to Valparaiso in straight sets (25-14, 25-21, 25-16) Friday evening inside ISU Arena.
Curry Kendall led the Sycamores with 13 kills, followed by
Hadley Hardersen with eight.
Macy Lengacher anchored the defense with 14 digs, while
Corinne Knapp added 10.
Ella Scott led the front line with four block assists.
Set 1 | Valparaiso 25, Indiana State 14
The first set was a back-and-forth battle early on, with the score tied at 8-8 before Valparaiso seized momentum with a five-point service run. The Beacons built on that momentum with a series of small scoring runs to take the first set, 25-14.
Set 2 | Valparaiso 25, Indiana State 21
Valparaiso jumped out to a quick lead in the second set and maintained control throughout. The Sycamores rallied with a four-point run to cut into the deficit, but the Beacons responded to hold their advantage and close out the set, 25-21.
Set 3 | Valparaiso 25, Indiana State 16
The Beacons opened the third set on a 6-1 lead and continued to extend their lead. Lengacher sparked a short Sycamore run midway through the frame, but an overturned challenge in favor of Valparaiso halted the momentum. The Beacons finished the match with a 25-16 win.

- Valparaiso's 49 kills marked the most by a Sycamore opponent in a three-set match this year.
