The course is a 6,040-yard par 70, where the Sycamores will play 54 holes in total - 36 on Monday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start and the final 18 on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
Head coach
Greg Towne is rolling out the starting five of
Yang Tai,
Briana LeMaire, Rosie DiNunzio,
Sophia Florek, and
Alana Gilbert.
Nicole Feistl will be with the squad but playing as an individual.
LeMaire has the most experience with the course, playing in this tournament each of the last two seasons. She finished 12-over last season for a top-18 placement, improving on her score from her freshman season when she scored +29 in a tie for 43rd. In Boardman, Ohio last week, the junior finished five-over for the tournament while carding a 71 in the first round.
This season through eight rounds, Tai has improved her stroke average compared to last season with an average of 76 compared to an 80.5 last season; going through only the last five rounds, Tai has carded a 74 three times. Last season at the Butler Invitational, she wrapped up the tournament with a 79 in the final round.
From tournaments two to three this season, DiNunzio improved her game scoring a 246 (82-84-80, average of 82) to a 149 (77-72, average of 74.5). She recorded her career low round with the 72 with the help of an eagle on hole nine, only one of seven eagles in the entire tournament.
Florek will play in her second-straight Butler Invitational. Last season, she scored the lowest in the final round among Sycamore golfers with a 75. This season she has improved her stroke average by two compared to last season and is coming off tying her career low with a 74.
Gilbert will look to make strides in her play after shooting no lower than an 83 in her season debut but has since carded both a 79 and 78.
Feistl's looks to build after knocking off 12 strokes from her highest score to her final round last week.
