TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's track & field's
Ali Ilupeju was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
Ilupeju turned in the best performance of his career at the MVC Outdoor Championships, scoring 15 points across two events as part of Indiana State's record-setting weekend.
He recorded career-best marks in both the long jump and triple jump, with his mark of 7.64m (25-00.75) earning him the MVC title in the event.
Ilupeju also placed fourth in the triple jump with a career-best mark of 14.76m (48-05.25), with his 15 points scored being the most by any athlete in the jumps events in the conference.
His season will continue at the NCAA East First Round May 22-25, with his mark in the long jump putting him in position to qualify for the regional round.
The Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon throughout the 2023-24 athletic season.
