TERRE HAUTE, Ind.- Indiana State Softball will travel to West Lafayette, Ind. for a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m ET.
The Sycamores (15-19, 4-7) are coming off of a 2-1 weekend where they clinched the three-game series against Murray State. Indiana State is ranked fourth in the MVC in batting averages with a .260 which consists of 227 hits, 35 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 113 RBIs, and 305 total bases.
The Boilermakers (17-18, 5-4) are coming off a 3-0 weekend where they swept Iowa in their three-game series. Purdue earned their second straight Big Ten series win, and improved their winning streak to five consecutive games, which is the Boilermakers longest winning streak in Big Ten play in program history.
The Boilermakers lead the all time series against Indiana State 22-18 which dates back to 1978. Purdue won the most recent matchup in March of last season with a score of 9-2.
Sycamore Standouts:
- Abi Chipps leads the Sycamores offensively with a .354 batting average, which consists of 40 hits, one triple, 5 RBIs, 24 runs, and only four strikeouts in 113 at bats. Chipps led the Sycamores in game one against Murray State where she went 3-4.
- Isabella Henning is ranked third in the MVC in doubles, with 11. I. Henning has a .325 batting average and a .566 slugging percentage.
- Seven Sycamores record home runs in the 2024 season, which come from Abby Robakowski, Kennedy Shade, and Isabella Henning each with three, while Danielle Henning,, Livi Colip, Haley Webb, and Randi Jo Pryor each record one.

Hailey Griffin had a dominant performance this weekend against Murray State where she went 2-0 against the Racers. Griffin took the victory against Murray State on Friday afternoon when she took over the ball in the fifth inning with one out and bases loaded, and Griffin and the Sycamores defense stopped the Racers from scoring any runs in the fifth inning. Griffin tossed a complete-game shutout against the Racers on Saturday afternoon, with 8 strikeouts to lead ISU to victory. In 10.5 innings pitched over the weekend, Griffin recorded 12 strikeouts and an ERA of 0.00. Griffin now has 57 strikeouts in the 2024 season with a 2.87 ERA.
Scouting Purdue:
- Khloe Banks leads the Boilermakers with a .363 batting average, which consists of 33 hits, 27 runs, five doubles, one triple, one home run, and 14 RBIs in the 2024 season.
- Kendall Klochack (4-3) leads the Purdue pitching staff with a 3.27 ERA in 55.2 innings of work. Klochack has one save this season, and she has struckout 34 batters.
