WATERLOO, Ill. – Indiana State golf caps the 2023-24 season with a seventh-place finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships, held from April 14-15 at the Annbriar Golf Club.
The Sycamores finished with a 298 in the third round of the tournament, tying its lowest team score of the season set in the first round of the Butler Invitational in October. In the tournament, ISU scored 307, 311, and 298 to finish with a total of 916.
Briana LeMaire was the low scorer for Indiana State, shooting a 75 in the third round for an overall score of 225. She tied for 12th place in the tournament. LeMaire started the day on the back nine and finished two-under before recording a +5 on the front nine.
Kristen Hobbs finished her last round of collegiate golf with a 75 and a three-round score of 226, finishing tied in 15th place. Hobbs started on the back nine and scored a +4 but finished strong shooting one-under on the front nine with three birdies.
Yang Tai scored her second-lowest round of the season with a 73, totaling a three-round score of 232. Tai also scored a 73 at the Ozarks National Invitational two weeks ago. She scored two-over on her first nine holes before finishing -1 on the last nine. Tai tallied three birdies in her last five holes.
Chelsea Morrow tied her first-round score with a 75, capping her day with six pars in the final seven holes. She finished the tournament with a score of 233.
Molly Lee scored her lowest round of the tournament with a 79, ending the tournament with four-straight pars and an overall score of 252.
This tournament marked the end of the 2023-24 season. Indiana State will be graduating five seniors at the end of the academic year. We wish the best of luck to seniors
