ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Indiana State right-handed pitcher Brennyn Cutts was named the Missouri Valley's Pitcher of the Week for the second time in the 2024 season as the conference office announced their weekly award winners on Monday afternoon.
 
Cutts picks up Indiana State's fourth Pitcher of the Week honor of the season joining Jacob Pruitt (Feb. 19), Cutts (Mar. 11), and Cam Edmonson (Mar. 25) to receive the honor on the year.
 
The Greenup, Ill. native went the distance in a complete-game, two-hitter on Saturday afternoon as the Sycamore starting pitcher shut down the Bradley Braves offense in Indiana State's 11-1 win. Cutts went all 7.0 innings allowing just two hits and one run while striking out six in his first collegiate complete game.
 
He posted his second consecutive quality start and retired 10 batters in a row at one point on his way to throwing just 83 pitches in the victory.
 
Cutts pitched around a solo home run in the third and single in the sixth to lower his ERA to a Valley-best 1.38 in conference play among starting pitchers, while also leading the conference in opponent batting average (.136), innings (26.0), and second in strikeouts (26). 
 
The Sycamores are back in action this weekend ISU travels to Normal, Ill. and Duffy Bass Field for a three-game series against Illinois State running from April 19-21. First pitch in Friday's opener is set for 6 p.m. ET with all three games of the series to be carried live on ESPN+ and 105.5 The Legend.
