D1BASEBALL – Indiana State pitcher Luke Hayden became the fifth Sycamore to be listed among the nation's best at the NCAA Division I according to the preseason D1Baseball positional rankings as the website continues to unveil the top players at each position heading into the 2024 season.
Hayden (No. 149 starting pitcher) joins teammates
Grant Magill (No. 42 catcher),
Josue Urdaneta (No. 44 second baseman),
Randal Diaz (No. 21 shortstop), and
Adam Pottinger (No. 62 outfielder) on the list heading into his first season with the Sycamores.
The Bloomington, Ind. native transferred to the Sycamores over the offseason from Indiana University following two seasons with the Hoosiers. He posted 34 career appearances on the mound with eight starts with a career 6-1 record and 7.01 ERA over 51.1 innings.
Hayden highlighted his sophomore season at IU with wins over Ohio State and Michigan State while striking out 21 batters over 24.0 innings.
The former No. 2 overall prospect in Indiana and No. 1 right-handed pitcher in the state by Perfect Game coming out of high school, Hayden was a two-time All-State selection at Edgewood High School.
D1Baseball will continue to announce their player positional rankings heading into the start of the 2024 season.

2024 Baseball Season Ticket Information
Reserved chairback season tickets can be purchased for $99. General admission season tickets will go on sale as well with adult ($72), seniors ($54), and youth ($40) tickets also being available for purchase. There will be a $5 surcharge added to those wanting tickets printed.
Sycamore baseball season tickets will also be available for purchase at home ISU men's and women's basketball starting this weekend.
ISU Baseball single game tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks.
