TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Rachel Mehringer shattered her own 60m hurdles facility record Saturday afternoon, leading the way for Indiana State at the ISU Open on a day where seven meet records were broken by the Sycamores.
Mehringer's time of 8.39 further extended her conference-leading mark, while
Michelle McDonald had a banner day with meet records in both the 60m (7.60) and 200m (24.77).
Grace Quinlan moved into the top five in program history in the high jump (1.77m/5-09.75), while
Niesha Anderson (20.77m/68-01.75) and
Noah Bolt (20.65m/67-09.00)
Indiana State swept the top spots in the men's and women's high jump, long jump, shot put and weight throw. The Sycamores placed first on both the men's and women's side in the field.

Sprints/Hurdles
Rachel Mehringer's facility record time of 8.39 in the 60m hurdles prelims was the headliner, but the Sycamores had a strong day from the hurdles group as a whole.
Shanisa Stinson (8.57),
Riley Tuerff (8.71) and
Kamille Gaskin-Griffith (8.81) all set or tied personal bests on the women's side, while
Quincy Armstrong (8.08) and
Collin Forrest (8.18) took the top two spots on the men's side.
Michelle McDonald set a pair of meet records for the Blue and White, taking the top spot in both the 60m (7.60) and 200m (24.77) to cap a strong day.
Angel Thomas (7.72) and
Collette Wolfe (7.73) were both in the top five on the women's side in the 60m, while
Isiah Thomas (6.86) placed third on the men's side in the event.
Cameron Stevens (50.38) and
Trent Jones (50.48) both earned podium finishes in the 400m.
Distance
Saturday's meet was a lighter one for Indiana State's distance crew, but there were still plenty of high marks from the group.
Napoleon Hernandez (1:53.74) and
Caden Emmert (1:55.07) both placed in the top three in the 800m, with both times being better than the previous meet record.
Halle Miller led the way in the women's 800m with a time of 2:19.98.
The Trees also had podium finishers in the men's and women's mile with
Emerson Fayman (4:14.79) and
Kyra Young (5:12.56) running career-best times.
Hadley Gradolf (10:43.17) placed first in the women's 3000m, while
Layton Hall (8:46.62) ran a season-best time on the men's side.
Jumps/Pole Vault
Indiana State swept a pair of field events, with the top individuals in the men's and women's high jump and long jump.
Grace Quinlan (1.77m/5-09.75) moved up to fourth in program history in the high jump, with
Kevin Krutsch (2.04m/6-08.75) taking top spot on the men's side.
The Sycamores also swept the long jump titles, with
Piere Hill (7.05m/23-01.75) finishing first on the men's side and
Dominique Wood (5.39m/17-08.25) placing first on the women's side. Kamille Gaskin Griffith also had a top mark of 5.39m in the long jump to match Wood. In the women's pole vault,
Brooklyn Giertz-Pfaff cleared 3.81m (12-06.00) while
Kennedy Merrell,
Abby Ballengee,
Selene Weaver and
Landis Brandon all cleared 3.71m (12-02.00).
Throws
Indiana State won all four throws events Saturday, with
Noah Bolt and
Niesha Anderson pacing the Sycamores to strong results in the weight throw. Bolt moved up to fourth in program history in the event with a top mark of 20.65m (67-09.00), while
Elias Foor (19.94m/65-05.00) also moved into the top 10 in program history with a career-best showing. Anderson had a top mark of 20.77m (68-01.75), while
Aliseonna Garnett (16.46m/54-00.00) also had a season-best performance in the event.
Brett Norton won the men's shot put with a season-best mark of 17.61m (57-09.50), with
Wyatt Puff placing second at 17.44m (57-02.75).
Hannah Redlin (14.77m/48-05.50) placed first in the women's shot put, with Anderson (14.00m/45-11.25) right behind in second.
