ST. LOUIS – After throwing a no-hitter in her collegiate debut on February 18, Lauren Sackett has been selected as the MVC Pitcher of the Week, making it two consecutive weeks that a Sycamore player has received the award.
 
Sackett struck out eight in her first ever college start en route to no-hitting Maine in an 8-0 ISU win. On Sunday, Sackett threw four innings in relief against Chattanooga, helping the Trees to a 4-2 victory. She finished her weekend at the Chattanooga Challenge with a 2-0 record, striking out 13 hitters across 9.0 innings of work while allowing just one run.
 
This is the first time ISU has earned MVC Pitcher of the Week awards in consecutive weeks since Taylor Lockwood won it in back-to-back weeks in 2015.
 
The Sycamores return to action on Friday, February 24 when they begin play at the Easton Bama Bash in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
