TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Indiana State men's track & field's
Terrance O'Bannon was named this week's Mark Clinkenbeard Construction ISU Student-Athlete of the Week as announced by the athletic department on Monday afternoon.
O'Bannon's 2023-24 season got off to a blistering start, as he took home top spot in the 60m while breaking the
John Gartland Invitational and facility record twice.
He opened his night with a time of 6.72 in the prelims, then followed with a time of 6.69 in the finals, both of which broke meet and facility records held by 2023 All-American
JaVaughn Moore.
In addition, O'Bannon also went out of his comfort zone by running the anchor leg of Indiana State's 4x400m relay and had a 51.4-second split.
O'Bannon's 60m time of 6.69 is the second-fastest 60m time of his career, and he is the only MVC athlete with a time under 6.70 this season. He ranks first in the MVC, second in the Great Lakes region and ninth in the nation in the 60m.
