KIRKWOOD, Mo. – The Indiana State women's golf team wrapped up its spring season with a sixth-place finish at the MVC Championship. The team battled adverse weather conditions throughout the three-day event at Greenbriar Hills Country Club, shooting a 950 combined score over three rounds, falling one stroke short of Evansville in fifth place.
 
"I'm proud of Lauren (Green) earning all-conference honors again despite fighting through injury this spring," head coach Greg Towne said. "We were in position early and our younger players will learn a lot from this experience. They hung in there and we are looking forward to building on this for next year."
 
It marks the second time in her Indiana State career that Lauren Green has earned All-MVC accolades. The Merseyside, England native entered the postseason with a 76.27 stroke average which ranked 12th in the MVC while playing in a team-high 26 rounds.
 
Illinois State took home the tournament crown after carding 911, edging Missouri State (912) by a stroke to claim the title. Drake (935) took third and Bradley (945) climbed two spots during the final day to come in fourth.
 
Drake's Kristen Giles took home the individual title after finishing play 12-over-par and one stroke ahead of Illinois State's Ali Schrock (+13).
 
Molly Lee led ISU in the tournament with an 18th-place finish after carding a 237 (+24) while Kristen Hobbs finished just behind at 19th with a 238 (+25). Madison Branum and Chelsea Morrow each posted identical scores of 240 (+27) to finish tied for 23rd while Green finished 29th with a 242 (+29).
