Last Time Out
In its first away meet since early December, Indiana State track and field put together 15 top-five finishes at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational.

Going up against the toughest competition ISU has faced this season, the Sycamores came out with two wins and a pair of facility records. JaVaughn Moore also broke the school record in the 60m, which had stood for nearly 50 years.

Moore (60m) and Shomari-Rogers Walton (long jump) were the event winners for the Sycamores, with both also posting a top-three finish in one other event. Moore placed third in the 200m, while Rogers-Walton finished third in the triple jump.

Ryann Porter had the top finish of the day for the Sycamore women with a second-place result in the triple jump.

Record Setter
Indiana State's JaVaughn Moore has gotten off to a blistering pace to start the season, dominating the competition each week the Sycamores have competed.

Moore set the Indiana State school record in the 60m last weekend at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, running the first sub-6.70 time in school history (6.68). In addition, Moore also ran the second-fastest 200m time in school history at 21.37 seconds. Moore owns the top time in the Valley in both events.

Trees in the Rankings
Indiana State held put at No. 8 in the men's Great Lakes region rankings, while the women's team remained at No. 18 in the region.

The Sycamores had three events in the #EventSquad top 25 (men's long jump-13th, men's shot put-17th, men's weight throw-18th), while also having the top squad in the Valley in six different events (men's 60m, men's 400m, men's 3000m, women's 60m hurdles, women's pole vault, women's long jump,).

ISU features five student-athletes on the NCAA Performance List - JaVaughn Moore (60m), Luigi Rivas (60m hurdles), Shomari Rogers-Walton (long jump), Frankie Young III (long jump) and Ryann Porter (triple jump).

Rogers-Walton has the top long jump mark in the Great Lakes region, with Rivas (6om hurdles - second), Moore (60m - fifth; 200m - fourth), Porter (triple jump - third) and Young III (long jump - fourth) all posting top-five marks in the region.

Weekly Winners
Indiana State swept the Missouri Valley Conference men's track and field weekly awards last week following a strong showing at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational.

JaVaughn Moore was named the MVC Male Track Athlete of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks after breaking the school record in the 60m (6.68) and running the second-fastest 200m time in school history (21.37).

Shomari Rogers-Walton earned MVC Male Field Athlete of the Week honors after posting the Valley's best long jump this season (7.55m) while also earning a top-three finish in the triple jump (14.50m).

Indiana State has won five MVC weekly awards through its first four meets of the season, with Brittnee James and Kamille Gaskin-Griffith also earning honors this season.

Dominant Debut
Luigi Rivas made his first meet with the Sycamores one to remember. Making his collegiate debut at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, Rivas earned a second-place finish in the 60m hurdles.

Rivas crossed the finish line in 7.92 seconds, the fastest 60m hurdles mark for a Sycamore this season. He also moved into the top 10 in program history in the event.

Back In Business
Ryann Porter continued to show why she is one of the top triple jumpers in the region at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. She earned a second-place finish in the event with a top jump of 12.70m.

Porter owns the top triple jump mark in the Valley this season by a wide margin and is the only athlete in the conference with a jump of more than 12 meters, having accomplished the feat in every meet she has competed in this season.

Her mark of 12.70m is also the second-best triple jump in Indiana State indoor track and field history.

The Streak Continues
Few in the nation have put together a streak as impressive as JaVaughn Moore's mark of consecutive 60m event wins. Moore has won the event each of the last eight times he has competed in it, a streak that dates back to the 2019-20 season.

Moore has won the Missouri Valley Conference 60m title in each of the last two seasons and broke the 60m school record, which had stood since 1973, at the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational last week.
